Villa Marangga

6 guests2 bedrooms3 beds2.5 baths

At the end of a no-through lane in central Canggu — minutes from everything, and quiet enough to forget it.

The trade most people make in Canggu is convenience for peace. Stay central and you hear the scooters; stay quiet and you spend your life riding in.

Marangga sits at the end of a lane that goes nowhere. Nothing passes the gate, because there is nothing beyond it. And yet the cafés, gyms and studios of central Canggu are a few flat minutes away, and the beaches around ten.

The villa itself is single-storey and easy to live in — bright open-plan living that opens straight onto the pool terrace, two king ensuites, and a garden of palms with a daybed under them.

The Space

Single-level throughout, with a bright open-plan living area that opens directly onto the pool terrace and garden. Comfortable lounge seating, a smart TV with Netflix and streaming, and a double sofa bed for two additional guests.

A large dining table seats six, and the kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking — fridge-freezer, gas stove, microwave, kettle, Nespresso machine, cookware, crockery and cutlery.

There is also a washing machine and a guest washroom, which matters more on a longer stay than it sounds.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Bedroom One — a king-size bed with glazed doors opening to the pool and garden, and an ensuite with walk-in shower, vanity basin, toilet with bidet, and a hanging rail.

Bedroom Two — a king-size bed with a direct garden and pool outlook, and an ensuite of the same standard.

Both are dressed in hotel-quality linens and air-conditioned, and both close fully for a cool night's sleep.

With the lounge sofa bed, Marangga sleeps up to six — two couples, a family, or friends who want space without a large house.

The Garden & Pool

A private pool surrounded by tropical planting, with a sun terrace, two loungers and a hand-fringed Balinese parasol. A large upholstered outdoor daybed sits under the palms — the spot most guests end up spending the afternoon.

There is an outdoor shower, and quiet leafy seating areas among the trees for morning coffee and evening drinks. Private parking for a car or several scooters.

As with all our villas, this one lives open to the Balinese tropics, and the tropics live back — geckos on the walls, considered good fortune here, butterflies through the garden, the occasional ant in the humid months. We treat the villa professionally every four weeks, and the bedrooms seal completely.

The Neighbourhood

Tibubeneng is a calm residential pocket of central Canggu — quiet streets, light traffic, and the rare position of being genuinely close to things while not being in them.

Cafés, bakeries, gyms, yoga and pilates studios are a few minutes away, as are the padel courts and fitness clubs. Berawa, Batu Bolong and Echo Beach are around ten minutes by scooter, with the surf breaks, beach clubs and sunset bars close by. Seminyak is fifteen to twenty minutes down the coast, and the airport forty-five minutes to an hour depending on traffic.

It is a wellness-minded neighbourhood with a real community feel — made for morning walks, unhurried beach days, and longer stays.

All times are approximate and by scooter — Bali's traffic shifts through the day.

Getting Around

Canggu is best on two wheels, and here the cafés, gyms and beaches are a few short, flat minutes away. Our own Nusa Havens fleet can be delivered to the gate before you arrive, including licence-free electric vehicles that need no motorcycle permit.

Grab and Gojek operate throughout, and a private driver or chauffeured car can be arranged for airport transfers, temple trips or a day further afield.

Being central, a handful of cafés and shops are within a short stroll — though a scooter or car is best for the beaches. Private on-site parking for a car or several scooters, on a quiet lane with easy access for drivers and deliveries.

Drivers, chefs and island days can be arranged through our experiences.

Good to Know

Check-in from 4:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM. Self check-in available, with full details sent before arrival. A valid passport is required for guests aged 18 and over — standard for villa stays in Bali.

Your Villa Hostess welcomes every guest personally. For arrivals after 9:00 PM a small late-welcome fee applies, so she can stay and greet you properly however late your journey.

The pool is unfenced, directly accessible from the living areas, and not heated. Children must be supervised at all times, particularly under-12s and non-swimmers. We ask that the entrance gates are kept closed. A cot and high chair are available on request with notice.

Private leisure stays only — no events or parties, in respect of our neighbours. Smoking in the garden and pool area only. No security deposit is required; we simply ask that you treat the villa with the care we put into preparing it.

Bali is developing quickly, and building work happens across the island. We chose this no-through lane for its calm and protect it as far as we can, but we do not control the land around us. Should nearby noise arise, message your Villa Hostess and we will do what we can.
