Villa Tamarind II

8 guests2 bedrooms4 beds3 baths

A pool with a pavilion either side, and a twin-queen room that makes travelling with children genuinely easy.

Slow mornings, quiet lanes, and a pool of your own.

Tamarind II is arranged so the garden runs right through the middle of the house — a living pavilion on one side of the pool, a bedroom pavilion on the other. You cross open air between them, which sounds like a small thing and turns out to be the character of the place.

Like its twin next door, it has a twin-queen room sleeping four alongside a king suite — the arrangement that makes it one of the few villas in Canggu genuinely built for a family rather than adapted for one.

The Space

The main pavilion holds open-plan living, dining and kitchen, opening straight to the pool and garden. A relaxed lounge with a double sofa bed, two armchairs, a pair of coffee tables and a 42-inch smart TV; a dining table for six; and a full kitchen with two-burner gas stove and extractor, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, water dispenser, and complete cookware, crockery, cutlery and utensils.

A bathroom off the living area — vanity, walk-in shower and bidet-spray toilet — serves the sofa bed and the poolside.

The bedroom pavilion faces it across the water, with a covered porch running in front of both rooms, bean-bag seating and a side table. A quiet spot for morning coffee before anyone else is up.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Tamarind II sleeps up to eight, and how it does so makes it unusually flexible.

Bedroom One — a king bed, bedside tables lit by hanging pendants, dressing table, accent chair, wardrobe storage with safe, and an ensuite with vanity, walk-in shower and bidet-spray toilet. Looking out to the garden and pool. Air-conditioned. Sleeps two.

Bedroom Two — two queen beds, dressing table, accent chair, wardrobe storage with safe, and its own ensuite of the same standard. Garden and pool views. Air-conditioned. Sleeps up to four — ideal for children, or friends sharing.

The living area — a double sofa bed for up to two more, using the living-area bathroom.

Six guests in two private, air-conditioned ensuite bedrooms, with two more on the sofa bed. The twin-queen room makes this a rare villa for a family with children, or two couples plus friends. Hotel-quality linens and towels throughout; air conditioning in both bedrooms and the living pavilion.

The Garden & Pool

A private swimming pool of roughly seven metres by three, edged with tropical planting, with a timber sun deck, two cushioned loungers and a hand-fringed Balinese parasol. An outdoor shower for cooling off after a swim.

Green, private surroundings at the calm end of a no-through lane. Private parking for up to two cars.

As with all our villas, this one lives open to the tropics and the tropics live back — geckos on the walls, considered good fortune here, butterflies across the garden, the odd ant in the humid months. Roosters and local temple ceremonies are a wonderful part of village life and can sometimes be heard too. We treat the villa professionally every four weeks, and both bedrooms close and seal completely.

The Neighbourhood

Tumbuk Bayuh is a peaceful, semi-rural pocket just north of Canggu — open rice fields, quiet lanes and a relaxed local rhythm, a welcome step back from the busier streets while staying an easy ride from everything.

Seseh and Pererenan beaches are around fifteen minutes by scooter, Batu Bolong and Echo Beach roughly twenty. Pererenan and Canggu's cafés, bakeries and restaurants are ten to fifteen minutes, as are the gyms, yoga studios and padel courts around Berawa and Pererenan. Supermarkets and pharmacies are a short ride. Tanah Lot is an easy fifteen-minute run for sunset, and the airport forty-five minutes to an hour depending on traffic.

Mornings here are for slow walks past the paddies — calm without isolation, and a favourite for longer stays, remote work and families.

All times are approximate and by scooter — Bali's traffic shifts through the day.

Getting Around

Two wheels are the way here. Our own Nusa Havens fleet can be delivered to the gate before you arrive, including licence-free electric vehicles that need no motorcycle permit.

Grab and Gojek run reliably throughout, and a private driver or chauffeured car can be arranged for airport transfers, temple visits or a day further afield.

The surrounding roads are quiet residential lanes with little through traffic, so arrivals and departures are calm. Private on-site parking for up to two cars.

Drivers, chefs and island days can be arranged through our experiences.

Good to Know

Check-in from 4:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM. Self check-in available, with full details sent before arrival. A valid passport is required for guests aged 18 and over — standard for villa stays in Bali.

Your Villa Hostess welcomes every guest personally. For arrivals after 9:00 PM a small late-welcome fee applies, so she can stay and greet you properly however late your journey.

The pool. It is unfenced and ungated, not heated, and directly accessible from the living areas. The pavilions sit either side of it, so guests cross open poolside between them. Children must be supervised at all times, particularly under-12s and anyone who is not a confident swimmer — please never leave them near the water unattended, even briefly. There is no lifeguard. We ask that the entrance gates are kept closed. A cot and high chair are available on request with notice.

Private leisure stays only — no events or parties, in respect of our neighbours. Smoking in the garden and pool area only. No security deposit is required; we simply ask that you treat the villa with the care we put into preparing it.

Bali is developing quickly, and building work happens across the island. We chose this quiet corner of Tumbuk Bayuh for its calm and protect it as far as we can, but we do not control the land around us. Should nearby noise arise, message your Villa Hostess and we will do what we can.
